Clinical Psychology Practice
While my social media channel is relatively new, I’ve been running my private clinical psychology practice since 2011. This page is for those interested in becoming a patient of mine or in hiring me as a consultant. (To see if you live in a state where I can treat you, please see the link below.)
Whether you have a specific problem or want to feel generally better, psychotherapy may bring relief and happiness. My approach is fundamentally collaborative. My goal is to enter your world and help you make sense of it. I’ll work with you to make therapy engaging and soothing by creating a playful and sensitive environment. Though therapy can be challenging, it’s also energizing and affirming. We’ll incorporate your strengths and interests into treatment. My patients say that they look forward to sessions because thy feel more understood, hopeful, balanced, self-aware, and empowered.
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in depression, anxiety, complex trauma, multicultural issues, LGBT themes, relationship/intimacy issues and religious/philosophical themes. I have expertise in treating other providers, including psychologists, psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, nurses, and speech pathologists. I also have an extensive background of working with university students as well as young adults and particularly enjoy therapy that focuses on identity formation and building joy. Additionally, I’m often a good-fit therapist for people who are really smart and who need a therapist who can keep up with them verbally while still challenging them.
For my doctorate at Baylor University, I researched adult playfulness. For my bachelors, I studied history and philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania. Depending on your needs, my clinical orientation integrates psychodynamic, multicultural, humanistic, interpersonal, integrative cognitive behavioral, and mindfulness frameworks. I love encouraging patients’ creativity and self-expression.
Contact me at AuritLazerusPsyD@gmail.com if you would like to book an appointment to see if I am a good fit for you. You can also email to schedule a 10 minute initial phone call if you have questions before we meet. During the intake process, I will evaluate if I think I can help you as well as if I think outpatient individual therapy is appropriate for you. I only offer virtual appointments, via phone or zoom. My fee is $220 for a standard 50 minutes; though sometimes 75 minutes ($310) or 25 minutes ($110) works better for people.
NOTE: If you want psychotherapy treatment for a psychological condition (as opposed to for consultation), then you must be in one of the following states colored BLUE on this map: https://psypact.gov/page/psypactmap.
